Condolences
My Dear friend,
How I miss your smiling face Dan.
You have made such an impression on my life and the lives of all you co-workers, friends and family.
I’m struggling with the loss of you being gone. My heart is broken brother and the tears will not stop. I wish that you were still here with us today. You are an example of how an amazing human being should be and I will carry that lesson with me always.
My condolences to all family and friends on your passing.
As flight Attendants we fly high, as Angels we just fly higher. Soar to the heavens!
Love you brother ❤️

Daniel was such a happy person with an infectious smile and always greeted me with a hug, even when we hadn’t seen each other in a long time. I saw him briefly before he passed away, and I am glad I got the chance to see him!
My condolences to all of his personal and Westjet family and friends.

One of my fondest memories of Daniel was on an overnight to NYC when we as a whole crew went to Little Italy and shared supper at La Mela before finding a cosy little lounge.( A great crew)...Daniel was always able to bring the best out in a crew and treat our customers with such impeccable service. A very personable guy with many talents and linguistic capabilities that went beyond French and English. Glad to have spent time with Daniel and very sorry to hear of his untimely passing

It was always such a pleasure to see Daniel open the door of the aircraft upon arrival here in YVR. There he'd be with his infectious smile greeting you, asking you how you're doing. You'd witness him greet all the Guests as they deplane, demonstrating his true friendly nature. I can't count how many times I've heard Guests commend him on the service he provided them during the flight. That always stuck with me about him. I'm sure gonna miss not seeing him on the other side of that door but am thankful the times I was blessed with his presence. My sincerest condolences to Daniel's family! You are in my prayers <3
What can I say except Daniel was one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met...ever time I saw Daniel he would instantly put a smile on my face...his energy was positively infectious and he will be truly missed by all...
Daniel wasn’t a close close friend but as little as we saw each other, he always treated me like one. Not long after I started, working at the airport, Daniel came up to my counter and, while the details are now unclear, he was so friendly, supportive and enthusiastic I knew I’d fit in with the cool cabin crew gang. Every conversation we had and every flight or entire pairing we worked was a pure pleasure. It seemed he was always either just back from Asia, just about to go again or already planning his next trip. He adored Taiwan and he lived the cabin crew member lifestyle to the absolute max, always travelling and always making new friends. He was, in my estimation, among WestJet’s very finest and be assured, he is and will remain missed by many of us.
Daniel, the last time we worked together you smiled and said: "let's meet in Budapest..."
We suddenly lost one of our best!
We should all cherish your spirit that you shared with us.
Rest in peace.
I am so sorry and deeply saddened by this news. My heart goes out to you all. Sending strength. Xx
I worked with Daniel when he first started with WestJet and other times over his career. He was charismatic, his laughter was infectious and his joy and outlook on of life was out of this world. He will be dearly missed. I cannot imagine your loss and my heart hurts for you his family. Thank you for sharing him with us, we are all and I am forever blessed to have known him. God bless at this most difficult time. Janet George
I knew Dan only for a very short but very important time. We met on the first day of hiking the Camino de Santiago and true to his kind character he offered me an apple and to take my picture. We became instant friends and walked for the next three days together. After a long first day on the Camino crossing the Pyrenees we got to the town we were going to stop at and all the beds were full so we had to walk another 3km to the next town. Without Dan's encouragement, positive attitude, and support I don't think I would have continued on with the Camino. Later that night he gave me some cream for my sunburn and moral support, reading right into the troubles that had brought me out to the Camino in the first place. His empathy, kindness, and positivity had a major impact on my life in that time. My prayers and condolences go to his family. He is dearly missed.
Dan was a man honestly true to himself, to others and his view on life. This impressed me greatly. He made no excuses for his choices and was always that one you could count on without hesitation. This world is lessor without him.
In silence, we remember!
I am in shock, just worked with Daniel on November 21st. We had some good laughs over an incident that happened during his first year while he was on probation. He was so sure that his Westjet career was over but of course it wasn't .
He was an amazing guy to work and hang out with. He will be missed a class act for sure.
RIP my friend.
I worked with Daniel a few times and we had so many beautiful talks. Never just surface conversation but meaningful and thoughtful conversations. I feel blessed to have known him. Daniel, you will be missed and remembered with love.
Love and mercy to Dan’s family. He touched many lives in his time on this planet.
I’ll miss our jump seat confessions. Rest easy hermano.
Dan will be missed greatly. He impacted and touched so many lives . He was always so refreshing to be around . So raw , honest , real , intelligent and caring I was always learning from him and about him each time I saw him.
I was saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. His vibrant personality and bright smile just made everyone’s day. My deepest condolences to his family. I hope you can find solace in your memories at this time. I know he will be watching over us all in the friendly skies.
How many laughs I shared with you when we flew together. The world is not going to be the same without you Dan. Wishing your family so much care at this difficult time.
I will miss you so much Daniel, you gave the best hugs, i was always so excited to work with you, random gadgets you would pull out of your flight bag to show your crew , you were a great soul. RIP my friend xoxo
I am heart-broken to hear the news of Dan’s passing. He was one of the most incredible individuals, a kind soul like no one I have ever met. His caring smile and big hug as soon as he saw, you will never be forgotten. May you Rest In Peace, Dan. You are so so missed xo
Seeing Dan's name on the crew list always made me smile. I think he's one of the few we all looked forward to working with. Such a generous heart, quick mind, and warm personality. I will never forget walking up the aisle to see him helping a little old lady out ... in Mandarin. He had such a spark. I can only imagine how lovely a family he has, tough I cannot imagine the depth of their loss.
He always greeted me with a smile and hug. You will be missed my friend.
Working a flight that Dan was commuting to Vancouver on many years ago, I was the lead flight attendant. We had a guest who needed assistance and seemed nervous and confused, she was persistent in trying to seek our help during the flight, unfortunately none of the crew spoke a language she could understand. I believed she might understand Cantonese or Mandarin.
I opened the door in Vancouver to 4 or 5 agents who were all of Asian descent and asked if any of them spoke either language and were able to assist, unfortunately none of them did. At this moment Dan pops his head around the corner, big smile on his face and says “I speak Mandarin!”. I was surprised and amazed as this was something I didn’t yet know about him. He graciously assisted us with this guest in a time when no one else could.
Dan reminded me that day that there’s a lot we don’t know about the people around us, even when we think we know a lot about them already.
His kind and caring and generous personality is something that has stuck with me since that day.
Dan had such a kind soul, loving spirit, and was an amazing all around person to be in the presence of. I’m so saddened to hear this news, he will be dearly missed by so many. May you find some peace at this time in knowing how many lives he positively impacted.
Daniels heart was so full of love, the most caring man I ever got to work with. In life you never know when it’ll the last time you get to see someone.
I’m extremely saddened.
To his family:
Thank you for raising such an amazing man and sharing him with the world.❤️
I’m so sorry to hear this news. Dan was such a fabulous guy. He will be greatly missed around the world
