Obituary of Brian Kenneth McCOY

November 17, 1955 – Ottawa, Ontario
December 9, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Brian McCoy beloved husband of Andrea McCoy (nee Ristow) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the age of 64 years.

Brian left Ottawa for a Western adventure in 1978, one-by-one his family followed. Brian and Andrea married in 1983, and welcomed two daughters in 1988, and 1990. He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for over forty years, and made many lifelong friends.

Family and friends were the joy of his life, and his favorite pastimes were listening to music, vacations with family and friends and keeping us up to date on current events.

He will be most remembered for his kindness, courage and sense of humour. He loved nothing better than a good prank.

Brian is survived by his wife Andrea; his two daughters, Caitlin (Laine), and Erin; his brother Kevin (Kareen); three sisters, Cynthia (Mike), Lynne (Rick) and Sharon (John); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Doris; and two brothers, Wayne and Tom.

Our heartfelt thanks to the ALS Society of Calgary and staff of the 74th Unit at Rockyview Hospital for their devotion to Brian’s care and comfort.
