Obituary of Marie MORTL-WILDENBORG

Marie Mortl-Wildenborg, beloved wife of Johannes “John” Wildenborg of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the age of 51 years.

Marie was born and lived her entire life in Calgary. She married John in May of 1991, and had two incredible daughters Grace and Gabrielle. Marie enjoyed reading, hockey, skiing, hiking, camping, ukulele,  painting, walking her dogs, and was particularly proud of building the Helicopter Playground. Marie enjoyed traveling, with Kauai and Disneyland being amongst her favourite destinations.

Marie was an avid volunteer for community groups and schools and proud to be a member of the Ice Maidens Hockey Club, Mensa Calgary, and a wonderful book club. She will be remembered as a caring thoughtful person who was always able to see the best in everyone and everything.

Besides her loving husband John, Marie is survived by her two daughters, Grace, and Gabrielle; her parents, Michael and Helen Mortl of Calgary; brother Chris (Julie )Mortl, their children Caitlin and Liam of Calgary, her Siberian Huskies, Oliver and Riley; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 – 8th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in at the church.
