Obituary of Betty CROUGH RAY

Elizabeth (Betty) Margaret Crough, Ray (nee Lindquist) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the age of 98 years.

Betty was born in Wayne, AB, on December 9, 1921 to Oscar and Clara Lindquist. Family, golf, bridge, bowling, reading and travelling brought her joy. Betty was an impeccable book keeper and kept a daily journal. Her careers included executive secretary and sales with Stanley Home Products. She was proud of her Irish ancestry and had a great sense of humour.

Betty is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (nee Crough) Fowler and son Tim (Janice) Crough, her grandchildren, J.P. Fowler and Sarah Fowler (Steve Miller), Virginia and Josh Crough; and her great grandchildren, A.J. and Summer Miller.

She was predeceased by her parents, young son Patrick, brother Ed, sister Florence, husbands Ernie Crough and George Ray and son-in-law, James (Jim) Campbell Fowler.

Graveside Service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Erlton St. &, 31 Ave SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Betty’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. S. Albuquerque and the amazing group at Southwood Hospice for their never ending love and care over the past four months. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Leonard and the staff and residents at Wentworth Manor. You were an important part of her extended family for nine years and brought smiles and happiness to her days. A special thank you to her companion Stephanie Howard….you gave her unconditional love, care and kindness. You made Friday afternoon happy hours at the Wentworth rich. A little rum and coke, music and song...made Betty a very happy lady.
