Condolences
Leah was the sweetest little toddler. I remember her bouncing strawberry blonde curls as she took confident first steps holding her mother's hand. I got to have a precious get-together with Leah and her parents when Joel was attending a conference at UBC all those years ago.
I saw Leah next when she was a grown-up young woman - still beautiful and confident. And still a joy to her family. I found her so easy to be with - friendly, warm and interesting. She was planning a trip to Asia at the time, I believe.
This loss is an unspeakable tragedy, and I am so sad, too, for the suffering they've all had to endure in the past year and a half.
May Leah rest in peace.

A little blondie with a smile so sweet. walked into my life when she and my daughter became friends. Laugher from 2 young girls bringing joy to my heart. A friendship that grew and lasted for years. We were blessed when Leah came into our life. Etching into our heart. A beautiful loving young lady. You will always be in my heart etched there from the first day we met.
One memory I have of Leah is a small incident that occurred when I worked with her. A small bat had managed to get inside our place. The Boss and I were scared of it but Leah came in and gently put it in a container of some kind and took it outside to freedom.
We knew her gentle soul would rescue it!
This is only one of the loving memories I have of her
I loved Leah the instant that I met her; she was witty, bright and genuine, and I knew then and there that we would be friends. It turns out I was wrong - we would become sisters. Leah shared her heart, her home, and wonderful her family with us (and her Mum’s wonderful recipes), and we will be forever grateful for the time we were able to spend together. She was part of our family and she will be in our hearts forever.
