Obituary of Anna Marie WALLACE

Anna Wallace, beloved mother of Toni Maltais, Lance Wallace, Diana Long, and Spencer Wallace of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the age of 80 years.

Anna was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 11, 1939.

Anna was a very well-loved mother, foster mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of a long list of children whose lives have been impacted by her care. She loved her children and her grandchildren more than anything else in her life.  As a young woman she was an accomplished speed skater and enjoyed skating with her sister Jessie, who continues to survive her.

Anna’s most memorable vacations were, her many camping adventures with her children.  In later years she enjoyed her cruises and trips to Hawaii with her daughter Debbie, who predeceased her, having lived with Anna for almost three decades. She also loved to spend time at the lake relaxing with family.

Anna is survived by daughters Toni (Terry Bartlett) Maltais  and Diana (Bruce) Long, and sons, Lance (Karen) Wallace and Spencer (Shannon) Wallace all of Calgary; her one surviving sister, Jessie Wallace (McFadyen); nine grandchildren Cheri Maltais, Mandy (Doug) Strongman, Jennifer (Evan) Spielman, Bradley (Toni Genge) Long of Jarvis Bay, Alberta, Jillian Wallace, Lindsay (Mike Zatylny) Wallace, and Anita (Justin) Wallace Aubie, William and Brandon Wallace; five great-grandchildren Dylan McGuinness, Aidan McGuinness, Hunter Long, Kenneth Spielman and Aisha Wallace all of Calgary.  Anna is also survived by her sister, Jessie Wallace of Calgary; as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her parents, Daniel McFadyen and Jessie Mabel (Hyde) McFadyen, her sisters, Peggy, Iris, Jean, brothers Danny, Gordon and Allen (Red), and her daughter Debbie Wallace in 2016.
