Obituary of Jackie Anne EWING (nee Galbraith)

December 23, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta
December 13, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Jackie Anne Ewing (nee Galbraith) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2019 with family by her side at the age of 58 years.

Jackie was born on December 23, 1960 and lived most of her life in Calgary AB. She attended Earnest Manning High School and the Engineering Science program at SAIT. She also graduated the Canadian Securities Course, which would lead her to become a National Investments Specialist at PPI.

Jackie was quite an athlete and loved gymnastics and diving in her younger years. She could walk on her hands at will and at one point had practiced with the Canadian Olympic Diving Team. Jackie also loved art, including Photography, Painting and Ceramics. She was an outgoing person with a deep love for her family. She worked hard all her life and acquired many friends and long-lasting relationships. Jackie was the type of person who took time to help others. An example was her tutoring of a couple of her sons’ close friends in preparation for post secondary schooling. She also willingly helped many friends and family create sparkling resumes as this skill was a strength of hers. Jackie’s favorite time of year was Christmas, where she loved to spoil her family with thoughtful gifts.

Jackie is lovingly remembered by her husband Richard Zolmer, sons, Justin Ewing, and Jarod Ewing (Sapphire); grandson, Rook Ewing; and former spouse, Wade Ewing. She is also survived by her brother, Duane Poulton (Sandy), and sisters, Sandra Henderson, Linda Rogoski (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews and loving in-laws.

Jackie was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Henderson.
