Obituary of Robert (Rob) FERGUSSON

July 25, 1990 – December 17, 2019

On December 17, 2019 at the age of 29, our son, Robert Kemp Young Fergusson, passed away peacefully in the Rockyview General Hospital.  He was surrounded by his close family. “Our beautiful baby boy” is gone, but he lives in our memories forever. 

He is survived by his parents Robb and Brenda, sister Kim (Brent) Goldenberg, nieces Aeris and Paisley and his grandmother, Shirley Young. His extended family included aunts and uncles Heather (Bruce) Baptie, Garth (Louise) Fergusson, Robert (Debi) Young, plus cousins Laura (Todd) Myles, Kevin (Suzie) Baptie, Craig (Kimchi) Baptie, Adam (Val) Baptie, Ashley and Brian Fergusson, and Catherine and Jennifer Young. He was predeceased by grandparents Robert Young and Robert and Eileen Fergusson.

Rob worked in oil and gas services in filtration, fabrication and pressure vessel installation. He played hockey for more than twenty-four years and enjoyed slo-pitch. His passions were golf, the Dallas Cowboys, online gaming and his cat Beasley. 

He was a gentle soul who lived a simple life. Family always came first.

Rob had an undiagnosed medical issue which escalated extremely rapidly. The family thanks the first responders and the staff of the Rockyview ICU for their professionalism and compassion.

A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
