Obituary of Jean Josephine WADDELL

September 21, 1949 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan

December 18, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Jean Waddell of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the age of 70 years.

Jean was born in Swift Current, SK in 1949 where she received her education.  Jean married Robert (Bob) William Waddell in 1972 and lived together in Regina, Winnipeg and Calgary, where Jean worked for the Bethany Care Centre.

Jean and Bob enjoyed an outdoor life of all-season camping with their three children, seven grandchildren and many camping friends.

Jean is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Shellaine, and Douglas and Barbara; her daughter Patricia; and her grandchildren, Brandon and Vanessa, Wesley, Spencer, Grace, William, Dylon, and Madison, all of Calgary, AB.  She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Eillen Devlin of Peachland, BC; sister-in-law and her partner, Joanne Waddell Charlton and Darl Charlton of Caroline, AB; and brother-in-law Grant Waddell of Calgary, AB.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) William Waddell in 2014 and her parents, James and Josephine Devlin.

God saw her getting tired,

A cure was not to be,

So He wrapped her in His loving arms

And whispered, “Come to me.”

She suffered much in silence

Her spirit did not bend,

She faced her pain with courage,

Until the very end.

She tried so hard to stay with us,

Her fight was all in vain.

God took her to His loving home

And freed her from all pain.
