Sheila: just a word to say that we have fond memories of our days in Hong Kong where Hugh was so helpful in guiding us with his advice and knowledge of the city and its inhabitants.
Very sad to read the notice of his passing

Always cheerful and upbeat, never a word in anger. So good to have been a small part of your life.
“ I first met Hugh in 1961 when I was visiting Canford ( his old school in the UK).
We found out that we were both going to McGill University in September and agreed to meet up. We became good fiends and fraternity brothers. We then became flat mates for four years. These years and Hugh’s camaraderie were very special to me.
Of course we continued to be friends for life even though we did not see each other that often.”
My condolences to Sheila, Heather, Catriona, Robert and the rest of the family.
