Grete Angelo (nee Ohliger), beloved wife of the late Mogens Angelo, passed peacefully away on December 30, 2019, one day after her 100th birthday.

Born in Hamburg, Germany on December 29, 1919, Grete immigrated to Copenhagen, Denmark with her husband after the bombing of Hamburg in 1943. In Copenhagen, Mogens and Grete had three children, Torben, Stephen and Bente. The family immigrated to Canada in 1957 to start a new life. Grete was a talented artist and her paintings were in high demand in her husband’s Toronto Art Gallery. In 1977, Grete, Mogens and their two sons set forth on her greatest adventure yet, heading to Calgary with the opening of Nordesign Furniture International. She retired from her role as buyer and salesperson at Nordesign in 2007 at the age of 88.

Grete will always be cherished and missed by her loving children, daughters-in-law Nancy and son-in-law Michael; her two grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Lexie, Heather and her husband Damian and their children Tyson, Blake and Connor.
