Obituary of Ravinder GHUMAN

March 27, 1957 - Kot Kapura, Punjab, India

December 29, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Surrounded by family and love, Ravinder passed away on December 29, 2019 at the age of 62 years.

A warm heart, magnetic smile, and a playfully witty personality. Ravinder is the beloved husband of Harprit Ghuman, married for almost 40 years and forever in love. Together they raised, enjoyed, and cherished their two children, Amiteshwar (son) and Harnoor (daughter). Ravinder’s primary focus in life was his family, including all the family he collected along the way of his unique life journey. A journey where he experienced living in Punjab, Greece, different corners of Canada, and ultimately settling in Calgary, Alberta.

He always fondly remembered his parents and older sister as his younger years were filled with adventure and love. The zest for life and exploring flourished through his continued passion for nature, great conversation, the shooting range, scotch, sweet treats, an upbeat song, and spending time with his loved ones.

During the final year of his life, he courageously battled a glioblastoma that is an aggressive form of brain cancer. Despite his diagnosis, he continued living by the principles he taught his children – have big shoulders, always push through, and do no let anything knock you down. Being faced with a terminal illness did not take away his smile, strength, or bountiful love towards his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all those he cared for.
