Obituary of Linda KENNEDY

October 8, 1944 – Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England

December 21, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is both with sadness and peace that we announce the passing of Linda Kennedy, on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the age of 72 years.

Linda was born to Edwin Allen and Dora Stewart in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England on October 8, 1947. For forty-four years, she was the wife of Bruce Douglas Kennedy.  Throughout her life Bruce was her true best friend and confidant. Their only wish was to be together.

Linda was raised in England for her first seven years. On May 5, 1956, she boarded the T.S.S Columbia in Liverpool bound for Quebec City with her mom, Brian, Barbara and Ann to meet their dad, who had left for Canada to make a new and better life for his family.  They eventually moved on to Alberta and British Columbia where she met Bruce. Linda’s parent’s made a huge personal sacrifice to ensure they gave their children the best life possible.

Linda could only be described as smart, independent, honest, hardworking, loyal, and dedicated to her family to her own sacrifice. A woman all would look to with envy and will continue to emanate far into the future for all her goodness and dignity.

A wife to Bruce so good, that there was never a question of their bond. She will always be loved and missed. Over the last four years she suffered more than she would reveal to her family and friends. Rest in Peace my dear Linda.

Linda’s life consisted of great marriage and a good life residing in Calgary with stints at vacation properties the Shuswap Lake in British Columbia; her and Bruce’s fondest memories with each other.

We can take relief that Linda has passed over and is with those who went before her, she is finally at peace. We will miss her but also know she is in a better place.

She leaves behind husband, Bruce Kennedy, and daughters, Stacy Lynn Kennedy of St. Albert, AB, and Ashley Brooke Kennedy of Calgary. She also leaves behind sisters, Barbara Schwab of Creston, BC, Ann Woodward of Burnaby, BC; and brothers, Robert and Michael of Pitt Meadows and Coquitlam, BC.
