Obituary of Robert FRANK
aka "Bob" or better, "Grandpa"
July 28, 1947 – January 1, 2020
The grandkids (Braedon, Nicole, Arden, Leighton and Alexis) were Grandpa’s partners in crime, and contributing to their "delinquency" was a favourite pastime: "Don’t do it. It’s a trick!" was his advice to them.
Grandpa leaves two children, Lisa and Gary (with Chala). "Sweet Pea" and "Butcher" could do no wrong, unless they were too harsh with the grandkids.
He was born in London, Ontario and came from a large and loving family of 13 where his mother and father, *Edith (nee Bowery) and *Richard, were his core. A number of Grandpa’s siblings and their spouses are left to "stay at it" or they (" * ") predeceased him: *Betty (and *Jim Jelly), Mable (and *Bill Haycock), *Edith (and *George Bennett), *Norris "Sonny" (and Donna), *Marilyn (and *George dePapp), *Ted (and Lynn), Gail (and Joe Verbeek), *Tom (and Mary), Walter ("Doc"), *Georgie (and *Dave Oliver), Peggy (and *Ken Goodhue), Laurie (and *Ralph Goodhue).
On January 4, 2020, Grandpa’s brother, "Doc", joined his brothers on their new adventure.
Grandpa left an expansive number of extended family to "build them many; build them strong."
Approaching year end, Grandpa set a number of goals which included participating and enjoying gift opening with his grandkids. He achieved every one of those goals.
Grandpa’s charm and charisma were evident in the calm and easy way in which he spoke with everyone. His legacy is one of kindness, caring, passion, inclusiveness, tolerance and above all else, Family (i.e., "The Power"). Family was his joy, his comfort, his everything.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam to any charity of your choice that supports children, animals, or the Kidney, Lung, Heart & Stroke or Cancer Foundations.
