Obituary of Joseph “Joe” Alexander SHARPE

Joe Sharpe, of Calgary, AB, passed away on January 1, 2020, at the age of 89 years.

Joe was born in Calgary and moved to the family farm near Wetaskiwin at an early age and settled back in Calgary in his early 20s.  He was an outgoing, yet private and independent person who loved working with his hands. For over 35 years, he owned his own plumbing and gas fitting company. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, billiards, woodworking, and metalworking. Joe will be most remembered for his determination, his handiness, his mechanical aptitude, and his desire to repair everything.

Joe is survived by his son Craig, and daughter-in-law Lindy of Calgary, three grandchildren, Aedan, Caitlin, and Tillie of Calgary.

Joe was predeceased by his wife Tillie, mother Mary-Jane Sharpe, father Alexander Sharpe, two brothers, James Sharpe and Earle Sharpe; and sister Isobel Sharpe.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.   Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
