Obituary of Roger Allen Brand MINER

Brand Miner, beloved husband of Fay (nee Trach) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the age of 72 years.

Brand was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 2, 1947. Brand enjoyed many different careers throughout his life; his final career was as a Commissionaire. He was a huge Saskatchewan Rough Riders fan and loved music, particularly the Blues. Cooking and wine tasting became a favourite interest in later years. He also enjoyed travel and ziplining, and volunteered with PALS and the MEOW Foundation.

Brand was especially proud of his marriage of almost fifty years to Fay, the births of his daughter Cindy and son Shawn, the weddings of his two children, and the births of all the grandchildren.

Brand will be remembered for his big smile and the love he had for his family and pets.

Besides his loving wife Fay, Brand is survived by his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Chris, son Shawn Miner and family; five grandchildren; and brother Dwayne Miner. He was predeceased by his mother Constance and father Ray Miner.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home .
