William (Bill) Fenwick Elliott of Calgary, AB, died on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the age of 77 years.

Bill was born in Montreal and lived most of his childhood in the village of Ormstown, 50 km south of the city. As a young man Bill excelled at hockey and basketball. He and his brothers Barry and Brock (both deceased) dominated the local gymnasium and ice rink. In his forties Bill became an enthusiastic golfer. Bill also loved to travel which he did often for business, golf, and pleasure.

Bill began his long career in real estate in Montreal working for Royal LePage. He moved to Calgary in 1968 with Cummings Properties Ltd. who were subsequently purchased by Trizec Corporation.  For 27 years Bill worked for Trizec Equities Limited, a subsidiary of Trizec Corp., where he became Senior Vice President for Western Canada.

In 1996, after three years in Ireland, Bill returned to Calgary and with two partners formed Trillium Asset Group.  When Trillium was taken over Bill joined Bentall Real Estate Services as head of operations for Western Canada. In 2002 Bill purchased shares in CanvasMart where he worked until he was bought out by his partner. In 2005 Bill joined NorthWest Healthcare Properties as Vice President of Property Management and in 2009 he joined Springborough Management Ltd as their leasing and property manager. He was with Springborough Management Ltd until he retired in November 2019.

Bill accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of being a founding member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Calgary. Bill was also a long-term board member of the Calgary Parking Authority.

Bill is survived by friends and family near and far.

His immediate family: son William (Anne Jarry), grandsons Sorrel (Ali Marleau), Gaël (Amy Elliott), great grand daughters Aoife and Murtaugh. His sister in law Gail Rebeck, nephew Cassin, and nieces Barrie (Greg Blackwell), Rory, and Leigh.

And his close and long-time friend Marilyn Anderson, her daughter Dawn (Bob Campbell), and grandchildren Anna, Riley, Wyatt, and Duncan, who knew Bill as ‘Grampa Bill’.
