Derek was one of the nicest, caring people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have spent many nights in the basement of their home dancing up a storm to any genre of music. Derek listened to just about everything. I spent many Friday nights having dinner with Marilyn and Derek, visiting and then Derek would retire to the basement to listen to his music and read a book. I haven't seen it for quite some time since he has been I'll, but I'm going to miss his humor and his laughter.
