Obituary of David Leonard KENNEDY

October 11, 1964 - Sydney, Nova Scotia

January 8, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

David Kennedy passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 55 years.

David was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia and was the son of T. Anne Kennedy (nee Rogers) and George Blaise Kennedy.

David lived most of his life in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He moved to Calgary nearly nine years ago and the support of work colleagues, old and new friends made Calgary his Western home, where he was content.

He will be remembered for his logic and wit; love of travel and his culinary and baking skills which he graciously shared with his friends. He will be missed, for he touched a large number of people in his own quiet way.

David is survived by his mother Anne of Lunenburg, NS; his sister Cathy Van de Mark and her husband Chris of Williams Lake, BC; his nephew Benjamin of Ottawa; and several close friends. He was predeceased by his twin brother Jim; his father Blaise; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Thank you to Dr. Richard Lee-Ying and his oncology staff for their medical and personal care through David’s cancer journey; to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Palliative Unit 47 at Foothills Medical Centre. The level of professionalism, care and compassion by all made David’s last weeks as comfortable as possible.
