Condolences
Jim and Elsie were dear friends. We initially met as David and Jim were both professional Photographers. We ran into them one year in Hawaii and after that we would arrange to go to Hawaii every year at the same time. David and I would stay for a month but James and Elsie would stay longer. We did this for 20 plus years. The happy times we had on those trips will always be a special part of our memories. We had such fun together! We also did a trip to Victoria together and one to California. Whenever we got to Calgary, we would always get together. Since neither of us had children, we seemed to have a special bond. They were the perfect couple and we are so happy they were a big part of our lives.

We first met Jim while taking wedding pictures of our daughter and son-in-law, Jona and Marty Way. Always enjoyed our time with him. He was always so upbeat.
Thinking of the family at this sad time.

My husband and I met James at North Glenmore Park. We would always chat with him and he always had something funny or nice to say. The last few years we would often see him sitting on his bench enjoying the view.
We will miss him.
We had several happy occasions to have photos taken by the Mathiesons and they are still hanging in our home.
Elsie always made you feel so comfortable when you went to their studio and Jim was a master photographer.
May they both Rest In Peace. Sincere condolences.
Doug and Barbara Baldwin.
We were neighbors to Elsie and Jim for 37 years and remained friends after we moved away. After their retirement we had many morning coffees, walks, dinners and chats over the fence. After we moved away we continued to have those dinners with both Elsie and Jim. After Elsie passed, still many breakfasts, dinners and visits with Jim. We have many fond memories of the years we knew them and will miss them both. Jim will now be able to get together with Elsie in Heaven.

I did not know Mr. Mathieson, but I did meet him on three occasions. Twice when he was the official photographer for Calgary's City Council in the late 80s and early 90s, and once when he and his wife Elsie were hiking near the Glenmore reservoir. I'm certain they were friends to all.
