Obituary of Aase “Osa” Ruth Kjaer STAGGS

January 5, 1932 – Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark

January 18, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Aase Staggs, beloved mother of Maybritt Jorgensen and Winnie Simonsen, and sister of Karen Kromand, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Aase grew up in Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark. She bravely immigrated to Canada in 1969 with her two daughters, Maybritt aged nine and Winnie aged twelve; they made the long eleven day trek on board a boat named Baltora.  Aase became a very successful realtor after lots of hard work. Prior to being a realtor she spent the majority of her life as a preschool teacher which she was very proud of.

Aase had many passions such as traveling, dancing and genealogy. She had an adventurous spirit which led her on many travel adventures. Aase married Bill Staggs at the Morman church in 2008. They had a lot of travel adventures together and spent five happy years together in Arizona before Bill passed away. She will be most remembered for her funny humor, huge heart, and her love for the Morman Church.

Aase will lovingly be remembered by her daughters, Winnie Simonsen, and Maybritt Jorgensen; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her sister Karen Kromand and many many more.

Memorial Service will be celebrated at The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints (202 crescent Rd NW Calgary, AB) on Friday , January 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Aase’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
