Helen Woodall of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 66 years.

Helen was born in Nottingham, England on August 11, 1953.

She moved to Calgary, AB in 1974 with her husband, David Woodall. Helen and David moved to Bragg Creek in 1979, where they raised their two children, James and Kate.

Helen went back to school and became a successful stager, renovator and interior decorator for many years. Helen followed her heart and gave back to the community by volunteering at the Mustard Seed, the Calgary Horticulture Society, Art-al-a-carte at South Health Campus Hospital and so many other organizations. She loved to help people in her community and genuinely take care of her friends and family. Helen accomplished much through her life and was a devoted grandmother, sister, aunt, and mother. Helen showed her creative side constantly through her interior decorating, painting with water colors, drawing, knitting, and gardening. She also loved to travel, take care of animals and organize social gatherings. She will be dearly missed.

Helen loved the poem, “Warning - When I am an Old Woman” by Jenny Joseph. Her favorite quote from this poem was, “I shall go out in my slippers in the rain, and pick flowers in other people’s gardens and learn to spit…So, people who know me are not shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.”

Helen is survived by her daughter Kate Woodall of Calgary, Alberta; and son James Woodall, daughter-in-law Jen Woodall and granddaughter Evelyn Woodall of Fernie, BC. She is also survived by her parents, Margaret and Kenneth Hutton of Lincolnshire, England; and her brother Robert Hutton, sister-in-law Jennifer Hutton, nephew Tristan Hutton and niece Colette Elton of Nottingham, England.
