Obituary of Margit “Margaret” Maria SCHOLLY (nee Cseh)

January 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Margaret Maria Scholly, beloved wife of Steven Scholly, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the age of 75 years.

Margaret was born in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary on April 21, 1944 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. Margaret graduated from Saint Mary’s High School. Margaret was a teacher's aide for special needs children at the Richmond and Altadore schools.  She learned sign language to communicate with the students she worked with. Margaret married Steve in 1964. Margaret enjoyed baking, cooking, cross-stitch, knitting, watching the Calgary Flames and spending time at the family cabin at Burnstick Lake. Margaret’s most memorable vacations were when she travelled to Disneyland with the family in 1983, and flew to Hungary with all the family, including grandchildren, in 2014. She will be most remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her Pogácsa.

Besides her loving husband Steven, Margaret is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Les and Cheryl of Medicine Hat, AB and Andrew of Calgary, AB; three grandchildren, Landon, and twins Ashton and Noah of Medicine Hat, AB.  Margaret is also survived by her  two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathy and Grant Trevathan of Houston, Texas and Mary and Don Ayers of Chestermere, AB; two nieces, Ashley Ormachea and Pamela Beare: two nephews, Michael Trevathan and Brian Ayers as well as cousins, and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her mother Maria Fogarassy in 1985.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
