Obituary of Jozsef BEDO

Jozsef Bedo of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 78 years.

Joe was born in Budapest, Hungary on September 29, 1941. He immigrated to England in 1957, fleeing the Hungarian Revolution. Joe married Christina (Tina) Wood in September 1967. They immigrated to Toronto in 1968 and moved west to Calgary in 1975.

Joe worked as a millwright and was a member of the Calgary Millwrights Local Union 1460. In retirement he returned to his first love of riding motorbikes.

Joe was very proud of the life he was able to provide for himself and his family. He taught his children there are no free rides.

Joe is survived by his daughter Caroline (Shawn) Caines of Calgary and son Karl (Yasue Kuroki) Bedo of Vancouver.  Joe is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard (Maggie) Wood of Calgary; sister-in-law Linda (Martin) Stewart of Ryde, UK; as well as nephews Justin and Darren Wood, Mark Stewart, and niece Sarah Rollason.

Joe was predeceased by wife Tina in May 2013.
