Obituary of Helen Margaret WILLIAMS (nee Hein)

It is with great sadness we announce our mother, Helen Williams, of Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 92 passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 25, 2020.

Helen Williams was born in Calgary, AB. on June 26, 1927 to her parents John and Dorothy Hein. She grew up in Turner Valley, AB and met our father, Bruce Williams in Calgary and they were married on Valentine’s Day, 1948. Together they raised three children, Julie-Anne, Bena, and Mitch. Over the many years of her life she has had ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. All her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her heart and she loved them to pieces. Ask anyone of her grandchildren and they would say she excelled as a grandmother and she was the best grandma.

Helen was not only deeply devoted to her family, she was also devoted to extended family and friends. Our mom was loving and kind to all. Mom spent most of her life giving to family members and friends that were in need. She was a great example of what unconditional love was by the way she devoted her life caring for family and friends. 

Helen is survived by her children, Julie-Anne Helm, Bena Worthington and Mitch (MaryEllen) Williams. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband of sixty-four years, Bruce and sons-in-law, Ron Helm and Ray Worthington.

A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
