Obituary of Boyd Steven HARRIS
August 8, 1947 – North Bay, Ontario
January 23, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Boyd Harris, beloved husband of Suzanne (Sue) Harris, of Calgary, AB, on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the age of 72 years.
Boyd graduated with a Business Administration Diploma and he worked in the oil patch with different companies and later retired as V.P. of Business Development at AMEC. Boyd was very proud of his work and his family. He always made sure his family and grandchildren were provided for and taken care of. His daughter and grandchildren were really the apple of his eye and could do no wrong. He loved watching all sports but hockey was his passion. He played and got such enjoyment watching his grandchildren excel at sports and other activities. Boyd’s most memorable vacation was when he took his family to Maui two years ago. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and his ability for making people laugh.
Besides his loving wife Sue, Boyd is survived by his daughter Amanda (Thomas) and her two children, Kara and Jarred; as well as Thomas’ three children, Nathan, Dominic and Alexa; and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dora and Boyd Harris.
A Celebration of Boyd’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
