Condolences
To Susan, Rob, Jeanette and families,
I was greatly saddened to read of Heather’s passing. As my sister, Lorna, has written, many warm memories were brought back of the wonderful times my sisters and I ( the Hurl girls ) shared with our best friends, Heather and Jeanette, in Big Valley.
My deepest sympathies at the loss of your beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend.
Sincerely,
Darlene (Hurl) Windsor
To Susan, Rob, Jeanette and families
It is with great sadness that I learned of Heather’s death. My sisters and I (the “Hurl girls”) grew up best friends with Jeanette and Heather. The obituary brought back many fond memories of times together in Big Valley - chewing grain into ‘gum’ in the elevator, eating cookies Amy had baked in the yellow house down the road from the elevator, playing at one another’s houses and going to one another’s birthday parties. Though we eventually lost track of one another after my family moved from Big Valley (no easy connections through social media in those days) my times with Jeanette and Heather form some of the strongest and warmest memories of my days in Big Valley. Please accept my deepest condolences at the loss of your mother and grandmother, and pass my warmest regards and best wishes to Jeanette at this difficult time.
Sincerely and sadly
Lorna Hurl
Hi Susan, Rob and family, terribly sorry about the loss of your mom. Heather was a tough old bird, that seemed to just keep defying the odds on health issues.
She was a big part of my youth and I have many fond memories of us in our formative years.
I was a student of Heather’s in grade 7 at Milton Williams Junior High school. I met her again in grade 10 when she drove my friend and I home with Susan from LBHS after school. I can still her her voice from the front seat "Kelly, ya I remember you from grade seven science". And years later my memory extended that to "I think you were a bit of a trouble maker." She was right of course, but she didn't hold that against me because of my friendship with Susan and Rob.
I spent a lot of time at the Koski’s through high school. With many parties, dinners and get togethers with the family. To this day Susan and Rob are Among my oldest and dearest friends.
I have tears while writing this and am sad to say that I am away next week on business and unavailable to attend the funeral.
My sincere condolences to Susan, Rob and your families.
Kelly Johnson
TO: Susan, Rob, Jeanette, and Families,
With great sadness, we have learned of Heather's passing. I still value my (Donna) special friendship with Heather from our Big Valley days. After my family moved to Calgary, Heather and I saw little of each other but continued to correspond for many years. To this day, I still fondly acknowledge her May 11th Birthday! Ron and I send heartfelt sympathy to all her dear family and friends.
FROM: Donna (nee Hurl) and Ron Nieman
