Obituary of Anne MURPHY

Anne Murphy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 82 years.

Anne lived and worked in England for many years, and it was there where she gave birth to her daughter Shirley. Anne was a strong, independent woman and relocated herself and her daughter to Canada in 1974. Family was very important to Anne, she instilled the importance of education and independence to her daughter and grandchildren and she was a powerful role model to them. She did what was best for her family and put her family first. Anne always had a smile on her face, always laughing. She believed in living life and was always enjoying herself. Anne was very knowledgeable when it came to politics and continuously updated herself with what was happening in the world. Anne was bright and beautiful, quick witted, small but mighty and very strong willed. She will always be remembered for her honesty, kindness towards others, and her love of life.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Shirley Pope, her grandchildren, Meagan, Michael and Matthew Deans; and her brother Thomas Murphy. Anne was predeceased by her mother and father, Thomas and Elizabeth Murphy; brother Patrick Murphy, and sisters, Mary White and Kay Murphy.
