Marvin meant a lot to me. When we move to Lynx Ridge, there wasn't very many people my age to hang out with. If I wanted to spend time with people, I had to visit with adults instead. At the time, it was jarring, because learning to not be a giant pain in the ass for the adults was a slow process. But I never got that feeling from Marvin or Shelley. Marvin was always the loudest man in the room, and his personality was infectious. It created an atmosphere that I loved. The nights I spent at Marvin and Shelley's park model were the best, and the steaming bowls of buttery popcorn certainly helped. The parties they would host were my favorite memories at Lynx.
Marvin was the most caring, kindest, outgoing man I have ever met. It is bullshit that he is gone. My eyes well up at the thought that I will never be able to see him again. I hope he's in a good place right now.
Marvin and Shelley were our neighbours in Airdrie. I remember he always had a smile and helped me out immensely. We visited a few years back and the table was full of treats for my boys and my oldest still cherishes the john deer tractor Marvin had given him. It was hard to hear he had passed as we always thought we would get back down to visit again. Love to you both Corrie, Bowen and JJ.
Shelley, Mike, Corinne and families. We were saddened to hear of Marvin’s passing. Had lots of good times with you and lots of good memories. Our thoughts are with you.

Marvin and Shelly are truly the best grandparents out there. We had the pleasure of getting to know them over the years at their granddaughter's ringette games. Not too many grandparents travel with the team out of town but Marvin and Shelly often did and they were always in the middle of the party. We think Marvin will get promoted to Director of the entire Social department within the year but we will miss him down here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shelly, Corine & Bruce and the entire family during this difficult time.
Shelley, Corine, Michael, Shan & Eldon. So sorry for your loss, Our Thoughts & Prayers are with you.

Shelly and family, so sorry to hear about Marvin. He will be Greatly missed, a lot of good times were had over the years. RIP Marvin. Thinking of you all at during this time.
Marvin was such a wonderful guy to have around, he reminded me of my dad. He was kind, patient and extremely appreciative of the care he received from all of us at Tom Baker.
I’ll have to admit I unjustifiably poked fun at Marvin’s sudoku abilities when he appeared to be stuck...on more than one occasion (besides people watching this seemed to be the next best thing in the dayroom) but he could take a joke.
He was funny and optimistic despite his unfavourable situation. I enjoyed my conversations with both Marvin and Shelley and looked forward to seeing their familiar faces every week.
I am so unbelievably sorry for your loss Shelley.
I never told Marvin but he was one of my favourite patients, I already miss him and will never forget him.
Corine and families my deepest condolences my thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow.
Such happy memories of meeting you both with Doug & Bev and of course looking at Angus cattle with the compulsory go-cups on our travels! And look at the dynasty worldwide of Knights Blackbird 9Y. A legend bred a legend! Condolences to you, Shelley

My condolences to everyone impacted by the unfortunate loss of a truly amazing man. Marvin taught us all how to treat others with kindness and love. He will be missed by MANY!
Many find memories which usually involved rum and coke and interesting conversation. Only client who invited me in for breakfast after an early morning calving, which included some rum.
Enthusiastic guy and great friend to many! Enjoyed visits on his tack box at cattle shows. Rest in peace my friend.
Our Deepest Sympathy to you Shelley and Family! Know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in the loss of Marvin. Will always remember his big smile, laugh and stories at the curling rinks and community functions. He was truly a family man, good neighbor and community worker.
Sincerely
Bryon and Wendy Geier
