Obituary of Mona Nancy JOHNSON (nee Houghton)

Mona Johnson beloved wife of Ronald Johnson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

Mona was born in Calgary, AB. on July 19, 1930. She graduated from Mount Royal College with a Diploma in Secretarial and Bookkeeping. Mona married Ron on June 29, 1951. She was a member of the St. Mathews United Church and volunteered with Ladies Knitting Group. Mona accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her family. Mona enjoyed many camping trips and a cruise to Alaska. She will be most remembered for her love of her family and her holiday family gatherings.

Besides her loving husband, Mona is survived by her four children, Ron, Suzanne, Brad, Patti and their spouses; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mona is also survived by her father’s second wife Frances, her sister-in-law Pat, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mona was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Mona Houghton; brothers, Mid and Doug; and daughter-in-law Shelley Johnson.

Funeral Services will follow at McInnis & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
