Obituary of Gregory Edward WEILD

March 26, 1959 – Fredericton, New Brunswick
February 16, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Gregory Weild, beloved husband of Jean Weild (nee Otterson) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the age of 60 years. 

Gregory was born in Fredericton, NB on March 26, 1959. He moved to Calgary in 1981 to begin his career as a Civil Engineering Technologist.  In 1982 he married his wife Jean. He, with his wife, raised their family in Calgary. Graduating from SIAST in Moose Jaw, SK with a Civil Engineering diploma led to Greg obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1991 from the University of Calgary. Gregory had a successful thirty-three year career in the oil and gas industry, and was known for his exceptional work ethic. He volunteered his time with numerous organizations, including the Woodcreek Community Association. He spent countless hours coaching his three children at hockey, soccer, and baseball. He enjoyed restoring his ‘57 Chevy. Above all, Gregory was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Jean and his three children, Dan, Megan (Ryan), and Myranda, of Calgary, AB; as well as his beloved grandson Henry. Gregory is also survived by his mother Anna Weild, his brothers Bruce (Fran), Steve (Cathy), and his sister Kim (Hal).
