Obituary of Nicolaas LAUDY

February 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Nic Laudy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the age of 78 years.

Nic was born in The Netherlands on August 11, 1941. Nic loved to drive; he worked for the Calgary Transit. He was a member of the Calgary Truck Club and volunteered with the Calgary Police Service. He had a passion for truck driving, especially with his wife, and they were able to see all fifty states. He loved to fix up his trucks and motorcycles and he enjoyed working with metal, wood and leather.

Nic accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of playing Santa Claus. His most memorable vacations were when he took the Alaskan Cruise and when he toured Europe with his wife.

Nic is survived by his three children, Ivan Forbes, Lee Laudy, and Nancy Clark; seven grandchildren, Ric Clark, Wesley Clark, Andrew Clark, Timothy Forbes, Jane Forbes, Malori Clark, and Corbin Laudy; and four great-grandchildren, William, Elijah, Muhryn, and Lilly.

He is also survived by his two brothers, Vic (May) Laudy and Marcel Laudy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Nic was predeceased by wife Leslie; his parents, Bernadina and Nick Laudy; and his brother Twan Laudij.
