I too cannot think of time in my life or my family’s without Uncle Dan. Summer visits to Bowness Park and running back up to Claire and Dans house after getting treats; family gatherings and special occasions...we were always welcomed with love and laughter. Uncle Dan was my god father and I always picture him in my mind dancing so elegantly with Auntie Claire. I know my Mom Loretta views Dan and Claire like older, wiser sister and brother in law as well as best friends. I loved uncle Dan’s recording in the Memory Project and use it in my teachings about Remembrance Day... 100 years of great living and the changes he saw ...a life well lived with a family he loved dearly. We are all blessed to have had him in our lives.
Dan and Claire are two beautiful people. I always made an effort to say hello to them when I saw them .
I thank Dan for his service to our country and Queen.
He was one of many lives that fought for our freedom .
He lived a long and prosperous life. He has a beautiful family. Rest In Peace Dan , it was a honour and privilege knowing you . Condolences to all your family from our family .

I will never forget the warm welcome Dan and Claire gave me after I moved to Calgary for University in the mid 1960s. Their house was always open and was made to feel like I was home. Dan had a way to keep things loose and happy as Juliette H pointed out teasing and keeping spirit light. Seems I could go visit almost any day any time--daylight or early evening and felt perfectly welcome all the time. He will be very much missed. Calgary will not be the same for me, there will be a piece missing. Christine and I send sincere sympathy to my dear cousin Claire and her 4 children Marguerite, Paula, Richard and Paul
My condolences to Claire and his whole family. He was such a joy to see when I was working at the Legion and was always poking fun and bringing me laughter. Such a lovely person, he will sure be missed.

I can not remember a time in my life when Dan and Claire weren't a part of it. From when we came back to Calgary from overseas in the early 60's to just this past fall when we attended the 100 birthday of Uncle Dan. My parents would take us kids out Bowness to see Uncle Dan and Aunty Claire, they always had a place in their heart for us. Uncle Dan was always calling one kid or another a cookie monster and that was even before sesame street. A man to to admire and a man to remember.
Love to you all from

Uncle Dan was a very special man. He and Aunt Claire always made a big effort to keep in touch and visit with everybody no matter where they lived. Uncle Dan, of course, loved teasing every single one of us. We will all miss his teasing and his "joie de vivre". My heartfelt sympathy goes to Aunt Claire, Marguerite, Richard, Paula, Paul and their families.
