Obituary of Olive Patricia INNES (formerly Satchwell and nee Atkinson)

September 26, 1929 – Barrow-In-Furness, United Kingdom
February 23, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Olive Patricia Innes, beloved Mother, Mother-in-law, Nana, Sister, and Aunt passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the age of 90 years.

Olive will be sadly missed by her daughter, Norma Hurst (Chick) of Calgary; her son, Nigel Satchwell (Dawn) of Athabasca, AB; her grandson, Stuart Lynn Hurst, of Burnaby, BC; her granddaughter, Terry Joanne (Hurst) Groves (Sean) and two great-grandsons, Aaron and Tyler Groves all of Calgary; and also special family of the heart, Diep (Rob) Jackson of Ottawa, ON, and their children Jeannie of Vietnam, Jennifer of Calgary, AB, and Jeffrey of Ottawa, ON.

Olive is also survived by her two brothers, Raymond Atkinson (Joyce) of Toronto, ON, and Ian Atkinson (Gloria) of Victoria, BC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, US and Britain, and many dear friends. 

Olive was predeceased by her first husband Noel William Satchwell in 1999, and her second husband Donald Cameron Innes in 2009; an infant daughter Hillary; her parents William and Gladys Atkinson (Drummond); and her brother Ronald Atkinson. 

Olive's Celebration of Life has been postponed at this time due to the Covid-19 virus. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place, and a service will be announced at a later date. 

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion Olive received from Dr. Vivian Matta over the last four years and to the doctors and nursing staff on Unit 42 of the Peter Lougheed Centre, you were all wonderful.
