Obituary of Theodorus BEEMSTER

August 29, 1930 – Den Hout, the Netherlands
February 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theodorus (Dirk) Beemster of Calgary, AB, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

Dirk was a loving and proud father, Opa and a friend to many.  He was a master carpenter and enjoyed singing in the Dutch Canadian Choir and the St. Anthony's Church Choir. He also loved cycling.

Dirk will be sadly missed by his children, Jerry, Ralph, Mary (Jay), Carol (Bennie), John (Lois), Lisa (Ed), and Susan (Ed); his grandchildren, Melanie (John), Eric, Laura, Amanda, Kathleen, Michelle, Evan, Aidan, Adam, Ethan, Maia and Benjamin; and his two great-grandchildren Lucas and Paityn.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Tina Beemster (nee Rinkel) in 2002 and his daughter Teresa Beemster in 2013.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
