Obituary of Rodrigo David VALLEJOS

February 25, 1962 – Santiago, Chile

February 23, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Rodrigo Vallejos, beloved husband of Maria "Veronica" Vallejos (nee Berrios) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the age of 57 years.

Rodrigo was born in Santiago, Chile on February 25, 1962. Rodrigo graduated from Forest Lawn High School and worked for the City of Calgary. He was an avid gun and vehicle collector with exceptional mechanical skills. Rodrigo loved to play soccer and coached for Midsun and South West United Soccer Clubs. He found strength as an active church member for the Chestermere Hispanic Mennonite Fellowship. Rodrigo was a wonderful family man and was especially proud of being a grandfather to two beautiful girls. Rodrigo loved sunshine and the ocean; he was particularly fond of Hawaii. He was thrilled to travel to Mexico to celebrate his nephew's marriage. Rodrigo will be remembered for his storytelling abilities, his strength, and his kind heart. Now the angels can delight in his stories.

Besides his loving wife Veronica, Rodrigo is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Alex Vallejos and Jackie and Max Ficzere; and his two granddaughters, Nora and Maya Ficzere, all of Calgary. Rodrigo is also survived by his two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joseph Vallejos and Marco and Ana Vallejos of Calgary; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Mark Cava of Calgary; mother-in-law "Mom" Mercedes Chamorro; sister-in-law Marcela and Claudio Quinteros of Calgary; father-in-law Juan Berrios of Oshawa, ON; and all of his nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father Corina and Jose Rodrigo Vallejos, nephew, Mike Savignac, cousin Ximena Vallejos, and his dog Maximus.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
