Condolences
It was my pleasure and honour to take care of and get to know Les at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, Unit 43. Even towards the end, his thoughtfulness and inquisitive nature were obvious even through the shroud of dementia. He made us all laugh with the random and very funny things that would come out of his mouth. He would come up to us sometimes, not really knowing who we were, and shake our hands as though he had known us for many years and then give us this grin and a wink as though he knew what was up, but I'm not sure if we did haha. When we found out how prolific his art was and the awards that were bestowed upon him, we, and I, felt like we were truly in the presence of greatness. I am a better person for having known him.
