Obituary of Curtis James GORDEY

October 10, 1971 – February 24, 2020

It is with heartfelt memories that we announce the passing of Curtis James Gordey, on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the age of 48 years.

Curtis was born in Hanna, AB on October 10, 1971.  He loved the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family camping.  When he was younger, he loved hockey, skiing and anything else relating to sports, hence his nickname from his friends “SPORTO”.

Curtis had an absolutely brilliant mind and a wonderful sense of humor that no one could forget.  He made us think bigger and visualize life in so many different ways.  Curtis put his whole heart and time into everything that he did.  His work ethic, family values and love of adventure will ensure that the legend of Curtis Gordey lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He will also never be forgotten by his “Man’s best friends”, Nugan and Otter.  Curtis will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  The love that we all had for him was unconditional and forever lasting.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Lynda Gordey (nee Robichaud); in-laws Fred and Laura Robichaud and parents Terry and Cathie Gordey; sister Marcia Gordey (Chad May – brother-in-law), sister-in-law Barbara Stirling-Grant (Gareth Grant), brother-in-law Phil Robichaud (Claire Wyllie); his nieces and nephews, Sloane Gordey, Joshua May, Jarrod May, Jared Stirling, Grace Stirling, Jayda Stirling, Hannah Robichaud, and Christopher Robichaud; all of his uncles, aunts, cousins ;and his best friends Dan Reinbold, Sandro Cerminara and Noel Hill.

Curtis was always adamant that he didn't want a funeral; he wanted a party. Due to current circumstances in the world and province, Curt's party has been cancelled. When a new date has been scheduled, we will update his obituary and give details. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Curtis’ obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Curtis Gordey, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Airdrie, 300 TOWERLANE DRIVE, AIRDRIE, AB. Telephone: 403-948-1100.
