Condolences
Joan & family, Denise and I are deeply saddened by Kamal’s passing. I worked with Kamal in our early days at Nova (Novacor back then) at NTC, before you all moved to Red Deer. I enjoyed working with him then, his quirky and dry sense of humour that sometimes flew past before you got it. We wish you all the best as you go through this tough period in your lives. Regards, Bob Quaiattini
Dear Joan, I'm so sorry to read of your husband's passing. I hope that you and your boys can find comfort in the memories of your life together.

Dear Joan,
I was so terribly saddened to read about Kamal in the Red Deer paper. I have the lasting impression based on one of your poems--if memory serves correct--that you two were "thick as thieves." My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Clare Westcott Smallwood (now at HJ Cody in Sylvan)
Dear Joan and family,
I only recently had the opportunity to get to know Kamal through work. He shared his generosity and humour and made every day that much brighter for everyone around him. I hope you will find comfort in the memories of your life together.
Sincerely, Jeff Kluthe
Dear Joan and family,
I was saddened to read of Kamal's passing in the Red Deer Advocate. I remember meeting both of you when our children were attending Camille and again at Red Deer College. I send along my sympathy to all of you and hope that your fond memories of a loving husband and father will bring you comfort today and in the days ahead.

The universe has lost a wonderful man! I didn’t meet Kamal many times but he made a lasting impression!
Love to you, Joan, and to your family!
Heather Nolsoe (Bern’s friend)
