Cecile Bourbonnais of Calgary, AB, passed away comfortable and at peace, on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the age of 93 years.

She was born and raised in Calgary, graduating from St. Mary’s Girls School. Her family was deeply invested in the community, her grandparents and mother were founding members of Ste. Famille Catholic Church. Cecile forged lifelong friendships at church, school and work. After graduating she worked for Dr. Beauchemin and then in the fashion/clothing industry with her sister Jacqui until 1981.

Maman was a many talented woman; singing, dancing, knitting, sewing, and baking. She was an active member in the CWL, Bridge Club, the Kings and Queens Square Dancing Club and Société des Dames de Sainte-Famille. When she wasn’t busy with her community she would spend summer holidays with her family in Whitefish Montana, Osoyoos, BC, and Hawaii. Throughout the years Cecile provided a loving home for her four daughters, nieces, nephews and six grandchildren. She encouraged us to explore our imaginations through reading, music, dance, and sports. She will always be remembered for her amazing cookies, bright smile, and loving soul.

Cecile was predeceased by her sister Jacqui and is survived by her daughters; Lise, Michele, Nicole, and Suzanne (Joe Gazzard). Grandchildren; Eric Bourbonnais, Stephanie (Patrick Prevost), Eliane Gazzard (Colin Marston), Nicolas Gazzard, Rene Johnson and Justine Johnson. The family would like to thank all caregivers and staff at Holy Cross Manor. They were kind, caring, and loved our mother like family.
