Obituary of Cirila Manalo GUERRERO

March 2, 1931– Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines  
March 2, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Lilay Guerrero, beloved wife of Domingo Guerrero, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020, her 89th birthday.

Lilay was born in San Sebastian, Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines, the second of four children of Alfredo Sy and Flordeliza Umali. She adopted Canada as her second home in 1988, worked in the hospitality industry, before retiring and enjoying many years spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lilay is survived by her sister Benigna Caballes, seven sons and six daughters-in-law, two daughters and two sons-in-law, forty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.  

She was predeceased by her husband Domingo, her brothers, Manuel and Herminio Manalo; and her daughters Maryflor and Maricris. 

A Celebration of Lilay’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
