Obituary of George Peter LESEBERG

May 1, 1956 – Calgary, Alberta

February 27, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

George Leseberg of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 63 years.

George Leseberg was a true-blue Calgarian born here on May 1st of 1956. After his little brother Paul was born, the family moved for a short stint to Edmonton for the birth of their sister, Sharon. A few short years after, the Leseberg family returned to Calgary to raise their three children. George met the love of his life, Rita, and married her shortly after graduating from the University of Calgary. His career as a civil engineer took them all over Canada and the U.S. Although Rita declined to join him when George’s work took him to chilly Iqaluit. George and Rita both wanted to live in a warmer climate. They immigrated to the United States where George was the Project Manager for several large projects building bridges, tunnels and airport infrastructure. As sometimes happens with good marriages, George & Rita’s broke down. They parted ways and George eventually returned to Canada. George planned to stay with his parents until he found stable work but soon found that Mom & Dad needed help. He lived with his parents to care for them and the house. Mom & Dad both passed away in 2015 within 2 weeks of each other. George was devastated by their loss. He continued to live in the family home until he passed away on February 27, 2020. He is now at rest and reunited with Mom & Dad.
