Obituary of Ashlyn Nola WILDMAN

September 3, 1991 – Calgary, Alberta

March 5, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Ashlyn Nola (Pumpkin) Wildman, on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the age of 28 years.

Pumpkin was born and raised in Morley, and resided in Calgary at the time of passing. She was raised and taught her traditional teachings knowing that Wa-Ka is one of her skills of cultural traditions and cultural activities. These were important to her and she shared her knowledge with her friends. Ashlyn knew that if she shared her knowledge, it would be a way of preserving Stoney cultural identity as a Stoney First Nation.

Pumpkin is survived by her sons, Zayden, Kasen, and Case Wildman; her parents Edlyn (Tyson) Dodginghorse, and her biological father Elvis Dixon; siblings, Jordana (Anthony), Tanya (Carlos), Lucy Dodginghorse, Robin and Jalisa Crowchild, Ralph, Darius, Jeremiah Wildman, and George Billy; Auntie Nadine Poucette, Uncles, Oliver, Edgar, and Ambrose Welsey-Beaver; Maternal grandmother Donna Alice and Georgie Kaquitts Philomine (Willy) and Tracey Stevens, Grandfathers, Watson Kaquitts, Gordin Potts, Glen, Virgle and Audley (Tilda) Stephens. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Ralph, Darcy, Harold, Stevens Taylor, and Floyd Bearspaw; sister Sashlina; Aunties Teresa Kaquitts, Charity and Ola Dixon; uncles, Gregson and Ralph “Jim”; grandmothers, Wilma and Barbara Poucette; and great-grandparents John and Nora Stevens, and Alice Kaquitts Sr.
