Obituary of Bonnie Adele MARTIN

July 23, 1955 – Pembroke, Ontario
March 2, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Bonnie Martin of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 64 years.

Bonnie was born in Pembroke, ON on July 23, 1955. She graduated from the Center Wellington District High School in Fergus, ON and worked for the Government of Canada.

Bonnie loved running; she completed a marathon in Hawaii in 2008, the Calgary marathon, many half-marathons and 10k runs. She also enjoyed zumba, painting with watercolours, supported animal rescue organizations, and she adored her pets Hershey, Henri and Bootsie.

Bonnie’s most memorable vacations were Hawaii and every time she visited her hometown of Elora. She will be remembered for her loving and caring personality, her passion for animals and her love of art.
    
Bonnie is survived by her loving partner, Cliff Ahearn; her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Evan Martin, Kyle Martin and Anet Skocilasova, all of Calgary; former husband Daniel Martin; two brothers, Rod and Carm McGonegal; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Bob Muir and Kate and Lyman Smith; her pets, Hershey, Henri and Bootsie; and numerous extended family and friends.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, June and Darwin McGonegal and her sister Colleen McGonegal.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
