Obituary of Joan Clarke LAING

January 29, 1937 – Houston, Texas

March 6, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Joan Laing passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the age of 83 years after a recent onset of illness.

Joan was smart and had an inquisitive nature. She completed her BA degree late in life. There was not much she thought that she didn’t want to try. She dabbled in several arts, crafts, and hobbies. In addition to her knitting, making pottery, and gardening hobbies, she was an accomplished painter. Probably her all-time favorite was her fondness for cooking.

Joan is survived by six children, four stepchildren, and seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Colin Laing and two children.

Funeral Services will be held at Anglican Parish of Christ Church (3602 – 8th Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. with reception to follow.
