Obituary of Anna (nee Hoffman) May LOEWEN

August 2, 1923 – Eston, Saskatchewan
March 6, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Anna Loewen of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the age of 96 years.

Ann was born on August 2, 1923 in Eston, SK to Andrew Hoffman and Minnie Sieker, the second of five children. During her early years the family relocated several times within Canada and the USA, eventually settling in the Innisfail area when she was eleven.  After graduating from CBC Bible School in Regina she moved to Calgary where she was employed until her marriage to Abraham Loewen in 1961. They made Calgary their life-long home and raised their family together until Abe’s passing in 2015.

Ann loved to volunteer, serve in children’s ministries, and entertain. You were blessed if you enjoyed a meal that she prepared, where ever that may have been.

Ann’s faith and love for the Lord was steadfast and unwavering and her family was blessed by her daily prayers and encouragement.
Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, we shed tears because you are gone, but smile because you lived!

Our family is thankful for all the expressions of love and support we have received from friends and relatives.

Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
