Obituary of Eleanor Doreen LITTLE

November 26, 1936 – Vulcan, Alberta
March 12, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Wonderful Wife, Loving Mother, Faithful Friend

Eleanor Little (nee Jones) of Calgary, AB, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

Eleanor was born in Vulcan, AB and moved at a young age to BC for her childhood years. At the age of four, she discovered an organ and began playing it which led to her life long love for music. A song from her childhood remained a favorite.

“I am so glad that our Father in Heaven

Tells of His love in the Book He has given

Wonderful things in the Bible I see

This is the dearest that Jesus loves me. ...”.

In 1953, she attended Canadian Bible College in Regina where she met Wilf. After dating for four years, they married in Cranbrook BC, Eleanor’s hometown. Early in their marriage, they moved to Seattle where they welcomed their children, Lori and Brad. They decided to return to Canada in 1967, choosing Calgary as their new home. Eleanor spent her working life in retail sales. Starting at Woodward’s, then on to help launch Heritage House of Fashion, to finally partnering in her own venture, ‘Bayshore Fashions’ in Glenmore Landing.

Even with all she accomplished, her faith and family were most important. Her relationship with her Lord and Saviour, was the centre of her life. Over the past number of years, she faced many health challenges but always held firm in the knowledge that God was in control. Even as she succumbed to her illness, she continued to be concerned about others, always ensuring that those around her were being taken care of.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Wilf, daughter Lori Little, son Brad (Shannon) Little; grandkids Megan (Ryan) Burt, Matthew Little, Austin (Meagan) Little, Emmett Little; sister Lois (Kurt) Imbach and sister-in-law, Ursula Jones. She also had three great-grandchildren who brought her much joy, Josiah, Naomi and Isaiah Burt.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Jones and her brother, Gerry Jones.

To all the health professionals who treated Eleanor over these past number of years, thank you. A special thank you to all those at South Health Campus who cared for her at the end.

There will be a private family service at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Eleanor’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
