Obituary of Johanna de BOER

October 5, 1948 - Winsum, The Netherlands
March 11, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Johanna (Joanne) de Boer on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Jack Feenstra. 
 
Joanne was a proud mom to Susan and Shelley, and cherished grandma to Emma, Ryan, and Liam. Words could never express our admiration for her quiet, unsung strength and amazing capacity to love.  She had incredible faith and found a deep sense of wonder when enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. We remain inspired that she always approached life with an uncommon grace, courage and fortitude, and led by quiet example always remaining steadfast to her unwavering faith. 
 
Joanne will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Jack, Sjanie (Terry), Piet (Trudy); and her in-laws, Peter (Peg), Alice (Bert), Klaas (Anne), Martha (Bob), John (Dianne), Al (Harriet), Theresa (John), Ed (Teresa); as well as numerous nephews and nieces and extended family here and abroad. Joanne was predeceased by her beloved first husband of forty-six years, Tom de Boer. We are comforted to know they are together.
 
We will love you and miss you always, Mom. 
 
A Memorial Service will be held at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church (2111 52 Street NW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m with Rev. Pieter Heerema and Rev. Allan Kirkpatrick officiating. Reception to follow at the church.
