Condolences
Duaine, We were very sorry to hear about Joan passing away. Please accept our sincere condolences. Joan was such a sweet woman. We miss seeing you and Joan at Fish Creek Park. It was always nice to speak with both and to share locations of the owls, porcupines and birds. You both made such an impression on us. We hope you are keeping well, Duaine, and maybe someday we will meet again in the park. We are still driving around in the grey Honda Fit.
Claire and Christine
I am so, so sorry for your loss, she was loved and treasured by so many. Joan, was one of the kindest people I knew, and she was so very good to my son and I. Christopher called you Grandma Joan, you were really a great grandma, all the PJ's and clothes you sewed him were some of his favorites, and really you treated me like a daughter, your kindness and sincere heart will be remembered forever. You really were such a beautiful person. I am grateful that you and your husband came out to see my husband Larry and I in Turner Valley, and appreciated all the things you brought me. Keepsakes from my Nanny (My Grandmother that she gave you), and pictures. Every year I put my tree skirt under my real Christmas tree, and think of you, it is the most beautiful tree skirt that you made me.
I was very sad when I heard this but so grateful that I had you in my life, thank-you. For Joan's family I am so sorry for your loss, you already know what a gem she was, and I know she loved you all so much. God Bless.
Gloria Crellin-Houghton, and Larry Houghton.
My name is Melanie, I am the daughter of Norma Beck. Joan was a dear friend of my moms. When my sister Tammy and I were little we spent visiting time with our mom visiting with Joan and at the time Gordie and at the Royal Canadian Legion. She was a beautiful person and we loved running into her when we grew older and seeing her happy on her newest journey.Much love to you all.
I'm so sorry...losing your mom is heartbreaking... take care. Lori Duggan
