Condolences
Dear Bruce,
My deepest sympathy on Betty's passing, my memories of the fun we had when you and Dave were in the Directors Staff and the many activities and out of town trips to Parades, and other Shrine events we all attended together, along with the Shrine Circus for so many years.
May your memories of the Love of your life Bruce, and the wonderful, warm, caring Mom/Mother-In-Law/Grandmother to Chris, Heather and families give you all comfort and thoughts of happier days gone by.
Hugs,
Phyllis Coulter
Dear Uncle Bruce, Chris, Heather and family,
We're so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty's passing. I well remember all the Christmas sing-songs with Aunt Betty and Aunt Isabel's voices so lovely, and Mom playing the piano. And lots of visits to the Clarendon Road house, where Aunt Betty made everyone feel so welcome and at home.
She will be greatly missed.
Love to you all,
Ellen and Alex
Dear Bruce,
We were saddened to learn of Betty's death. It was always a joy for us to sing with Betty in the St. Giles church choir. She was always so happy and positive. We hold you and your family in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
With our love,
Susan and Bill Woodward
Our sincere sympathy to you Bruce and your family on the loss of Betty.72 years must be close to a record for marriages. You shared a lot in those years. Wish I was closer at this time but many miles between us. You have your family to comfort you at this difficult time. I am sending this to the funeral home as I do not have an address for you. I know you and Betty had a great life together and this will be a terrible loss to you. Our sincere sympathy at this time. Ed and Irene Maclaren, Charlottetown, PEI
SAIT's ALIVE (The Association of Retired and Former employees of SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) extend their deepest sympathy to the Family of Betty MacLaren.
We had the good fortune of having Bruce and Betty as neighbors for almost 30 years. Betty was such a wonderful person, we always enjoyed the chance for a cheerful chat with her. Clarendon Road will never be the same without you Betty!
Dave and Jan Shouldice
Bruce and Family,
Our very deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear Betty.
How lucky you were to have Betty as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
What a great example of love which the world needs more of now.
We always really enjoyed our coffee times together.
Betty will be greatly missed. But know how much we care.

Cat Stevens – Morning Has Broken Lyrics
from album: Teaser and the Firecat (1971)
Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlight from heaven.
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise every morning;
God's recreation of the new day.
Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.
